Job Description
The Senior Systems Engineer is a motivated and well-organized individual with a passion for working across technical disciplines to develop compelling products and platforms that involve innovative technology and solving complex problems. This position requires an individual who has expertise working with early technology paths; ability to work collaboratively with non-technical and technical partners; experience managing system maturation, requirements and respective risks; and focus on execution while providing clear and effective communication to remove barriers across the entire team.
Requirements:
- Drive development of system requirements to create new VR/MR/AR experiences, and advance technologies necessary to create product architectures that can deliver these requirements
- Engage cross-functionally with other engineers, stake holders, and technical program managers to develop concepts that advance the entire product pipeline (hardware, software, integration, infrastructure, and applications)
- Manage Design Control of applications containing mobile, cloud, and medical capital equipment
- Work closely with various external organizations to define and execute the long-term product roadmaps
- Communicate technology and product strategy effectively to both internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinate with team leads to progressively integrate the new technologies into prototype architectures
- Facilitate and work with teams to identify, debug, and resolve technical project challenges
- Participate in risk management and review to identify and define appropriate risk controls
- Define and Document development, changes and process in adherence to regulatory protocols (FDA etc.)
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Masters in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar discipline
- 5+ years of experience with embedded systems, firmware, computer hardware, product development, or systems engineering
- Programming data communication protocols such as TCP, UDP, etc. Experience with localization/navigation technologies such as electromagnetic, electro-potential or optical.
- Familiarity with network connectivity via wifi, transport protocols, and transfer of data.
- Experience working with medical imaging such as CT/Ultrasound/MRI. Can work on optimizing cone beam CT output from vendor system and load on to server hardware to be displayed in HoloLens 2.
- SW and HW experience to optimize video compression, transport and display of video. Can optimize video data for HoloLens 2 visualization.
- Can identify requirements from vendor on requirements on output from cone beam CT system (size, triangle/polygon, file format, etc.) needed to ingest in software.
- Prefer prior experience working in highly regulated industries. (Medical Device, Aerospace, Defense, or Automotive)
