General Responsibilities

The continuous increase in operating speed of Micron’s products creates a need for signal integrity and EMI engineers to support development of cutting edge products used in numerous industries worldwide. As a Senior EMI Signal Integrity Engineer in Micron’s Module Development and Signal Integrity group, you will address EMI and SI problems through characterization and analysis of parts and systems, development of measurement infrastructure, and supporting customers. This requires interaction with business units, field application engineers, product engineers, internal subject matter experts, and customers. Job responsibilities include:

  • Design and conduct laboratory experiments for EMI characterization of Micron components and systems, and customer systems
  • Analysis of EMI measurement data to understand emission sources and provide mitigation guidance
  • Development of internal EMI characterization platforms and methodologies
  • Electromagnetic simulation of components and systems
  • Support SI measurements at board, package, and wafer levels, and provide guidance to designers
  • Participate in EMI and SI pathfinding efforts for cutting edge memory technologies and applications
  • Communicate technical insights to application engineers, designers, and team members
  • Provide guidance on EMC procedures, techniques, and analysis to Quality team members performing compliance measurements
  • Provide general technical input on EMC issues including immunity, interference and ESD

Required Qualifications

  • BS in EE or similar field with 10 years of relevant experience, or MS with 5 years of experience
  • Strong background in one or more areas of applied electromagnetics, such as EMI/EMC, RF engineering, microwave engineering, antenna design, signal integrity
  • Experience with measurements in one or more of these areas, utilizing equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, near field probes, RF wafer probes, TEM/GTEM cells, and anechoic chambers
  • Excellent communication skills for teaching technical concepts to customers, application engineers, and team members

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with electromagnetic and signal integrity simulation
  • Experience with customer support and engagement
  • Experience with programming and scripting languages
