The Metaverse Art group brings together world-class experts to pioneer the future of social virtual and augmented reality applications, and we are looking for a leader in art production. This role will report to the Director of Avatars Art Management. As a part of the Metaverse Avatars & Identity leadership team, you will coordinate and drive the art team’s involvement and engagement with cross-functional groups within the Metaverse org and across the Family of Apps. Coming into this role, you will build strong executive relationships and partnerships across multiple internal cross functional groups including product, engineering, design, marketing, legal, and more. You will oversee the creation of quality content, help our avatars be loved and used by billions of users. You will be expected to lead a team that can proactively define better ways to quickly communicate, collaborate and ship products by building scalable systems, using state of the art tools and meeting highest quality standards.
Art Production Manager, Avatars Responsibilities:
- Oversee the production pipeline, and manage the pillar producers across major product areas: Marketplace, Experiences, Look & Development.
- Drive progress at people, and project-facing levels by handling executive communication, building new partnerships, supporting team growth and prioritization, nurturing culture, and more.
- Closely partner with technical program managers, removing bottlenecks and handling the complex dependencies of a large and growing system.
- Leverage relationships to inform problem solving and improve the Avatar Art team’s production systems’ focus and velocity.
- Be accountable for all the vendor management for scaling up the content platform, including contracts and finance budgets. Working closely with Source-To-Pay team.
- Manage and coach experienced producers to achieve career and personal growth.
- Be a role model and mentor other Art Producers across the Art Org.
- Provide operational strategy for complex problems associated with a rapidly evolving product, and with fluid constraints and requirements.
- Be able to firmly and strategically prioritize impact opportunities and guide the team execute the Avatar art roadmap.
- Effectively influence key partner leaders to gain alignment in prioritization, resourcing, and budgeting.
- Create effective synchronous and asynchronous communication systems that demonstrate the value of the art team.
- Develop lightweight, repeatable processes, standards, workflows and tools that keep the team nimble and successful in a culture that values moving fast and iterating quickly.
- Provide thought-leadership in establishing, implementing, and improving direction, goals, and processes for executing both near and long term vision.
- Ensure we are resourcing both the short term needs as well as looking ahead, and planning for the near and long term targets for Avatar art needs across the company.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience leading production work, working in real-time, immersive 3D products, such as games, film, VR and AR products.
- 5+ years experience directly managing, coaching and developing full-time employees.
- Experience working with external vendors (agencies, outsourcing companies etc.) including sourcing and contracting, advising on/defining creative briefs, schedules.
- Experience working with vendors by assessing proposed production processes, budgets, managing assets as they are delivered, and being the daily point of contact for both internal and external teams.
- Experience managing large, complex budgets across multiple cost centers.
- Demonstrated experience recruiting, nurturing, and growing leaders.
- Experience presenting and pitching to executive leadership.
- Experience with budget allocation and financial/performance tracking.
- Interest for supporting ICs and other managers to produce a collaborative environment, where individuals bring in their best to produce results.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in production of a real-time, character focused product.
- Experience managing managers.
- Experience working at a technology company, for an art-related product.
