We're looking for a product designer to join our exciting new TikTok product, Effect House! To date, more than 450 effect creators have published on our private beta, leading the creation of more than 1.5B videos and 600B views globally. We're looking for a designer that has experience building 2D desktop software interfaces with a basic understanding of 3D / AR creation tools and pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Lead product design for TikTok's 2D software creation tool experience, which enable creators to use this interface to design effects and other AR experiences into their videos
- Execute at every stage of the design lifecycle with product managers, researchers, UX writers, and engineers to ship product experiences globally
- Lead multiple projects for design from strategy to launch, ensuring we're shipping meaningful and quality experiences
- Create user flows, prototypes, and high fidelity designs that provide multiple solutions based on user needs, business goals, and technical constraints
- Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods for user research, including A/B testing frameworks
- Review product releases qualitatively and work with engineering in handoff phases through pre and post launch
- Lead design workshops and sprints with cross-functional teams to explore innovative solutions for problems and opportunities identified through research and data
- Contribute to feature roadmap strategies, improve product design processes, and champion knowledge sharing opportunities through documentation and post-launch presentations
Qualifications
- 5+ years of consumer-facing design focused on Creation or Consumption user experience across multiple platforms (Desktop tool, Web, TV, and mobile - iOS and Android)
- Proficient in design workflows using Figma and Adobe CC. Ability to work within and contribute to design systems
- Very strong prototyping skill using tools like Principle, After Effects, Framer to rapidly test and iterate complex interactions and experiences
- Great communication skills, eye for detail, organized in thought and execution, and experience working with multiple stakeholders
- Experience working in a fast-changing, hands-on work environment to rapidly iterate and produce multiple concepts
- Experience with a/b testing and a data driven practice
- Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods for user research

Preferred Qualifications
- Some knowledge of 2D AR software and toolsets within. Very familiar with Lens Studio, Spark AR, and other creator platform tools and experiences.
- Experience working with R&D in 3D pipeline on asset creation and hand off
- Experience working with design systems (design components, icon, color)
- Some knowledge of AR limitations, workflows, and best practices
- Some understanding of Unity or Unreal for interactive prototyping in areas such as basic scripting, animation, shading and playtesting.
- A passion for augmented reality and creativity industry
