Firmware Software Engineer III

Our chips will enable AR devices where our real and virtual world will mix and match throughout the day. We believe the only way to achieve our goals is to look at the entire stack, from transistors, through architecture, to firmware, and algorithms.

We are currently seeking a contractor to help generate, execute and profile AR software with focus on graphics to guide our graphics pipeline architecture and development work. The successful candidate will be able to build and acquire 3D applications and transform them into workloads that can be used by our internal tools. The ideal candidate should have experience with creating, executing and profiling graphics for 3D games and applications. The candidate will also help with building automated tools and flows needed to acquire and transform graphics content into a suite of AR use cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, modify, debug, profile AR software with by using Unity C# script and shader, with focus on AR graphics workload and experiences
  • Execute and profile the AR graphics workloads on AR prototyping systems and existing mobile and XR consume devices
  • Build automation framework for graphics system analysis
  • Collaborate closely with AR experience designers, software engineers, graphics architect / system engineers to analyze and improve the end to end graphics stack
Minimum Qualifications
  • Background in Unity or Unreal gaming engines with script and shader programming experience
  • Familiarity with modern Graphics Pipeline, software stack and performance profiling tools
  • Strong experience in 3D graphics development, execution and profiling
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Perl) and experience with automation of workload execution and profiling
  • Results oriented, self-motivated, proactive with demonstrated creative & critical thinking
  • BS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • C/C++ programming skills with Graphics APIs like OpenGL, Vulkan or Direct3D
  • GPU Shader programming experience, like HLSL, GLSL, etc.
  • Experience with VR/AR development, like Oculus VR and Hololens AR apps and games
  • Experience with analyzing graphics pipeline performance in mobile, PC or game console products
  • Background in Unity content generation pipeline
  • Ability to operate autonomously, with only high-level direction
