Who We Are:
Immersed is a well-funded ($4M to-date), Seed stage Techstars startup, partnered with Facebook to build Virtual Reality Offices! We're an extremely strong team of engineers whose aim is to immerse distributed teams into a virtual office to maximize productivity so they can work with their team from anywhere! We do this by offering unique virtual working environments (like working from a space station or lodge nestled up in the mountains during winter). We are also working on some of the latest hand-tracking technology our space has to offer to make working in virtual reality that much of a better experience. This is by no means an easy mission to accomplish, but with the world's best team, we're excited to revolutionize the future of work!
The emerging mediums, (XR, AR, VR, MR) require new ways of designing around a user’s experience. It is a challenge to keep everything performant, requiring clever optimizations and strict adherence to pipeline requirements. As we expand into our creation of a professional virtual world, we will be allowing our users to contribute their own creations to our worlds. You will assist with the creation of pipelines and tools that allow the users to create their own spaces without having to have deep technical knowledge or a bag of clever optimization techniques.
Who You Are:
You are a self motivated 3D technical artist. You can envision ways to enhance the experience of working together in Virtual Reality. Your contributions will elevate our ability to curate virtual worlds full of collaboration, connection and creativity. You are able to take user feedback about design, engage with our users and deliver high-quality experiences, keeping people engaged and productive.
We're looking for someone who:
• Can create imaginative and visually striking 3D worlds from scratch
• Has a great eye for innovative & effective 3D design
• Has a collaborative mindset, recognizing that most great outcomes are accomplished by teams, not individuals
• Is extremely proactive, resourceful, and constantly learning
• Is hungry to produce excellent work, and has a love for the craft of design
• Can create environments that are both beautiful as well as performant
• Desire to share that love of design, allowing others to easily create performant environments of their own
• Communicates needs and concerns, outspoken and opinionated without being overbearing
• Willingness to wear many hats as different needs arise
Must be very willing to help co-workers and be sacrificial with time. Our work-culture is very much like a warm family, not a cold office.
Required Qualifications:
• Skilled with 3D modeling tools and workflow (3Ds Max, Maya, Blender, etc.) experience creating objects and environments at different levels of fidelity
• Skilled with 2D and 2D generation tools (Photoshop, Substance Suite, ect ) Substance Painter required, bonus for any additional programs in the substance suite
• Experience with the creation of performant UV layouts for multiple use cases Texture Mapped, Atlas, Striped, Tiled - Overlapping, Non Overlapping, Mirrored, Non Mirrored
• Experience with High poly to Low poly workflow
• Ability to create art content that is performant and able to hit target frame rates based on the target platform(s)
• Experience developing art pipelines designed to function on multiple platforms and levels of hardware
• Solid organizational skills, repositories, naming conventions, layers, tags, ect . .
• Proficient at documenting and organizing the standards and templates for internal use as well as user created content
• Identifying inefficiencies within the current asset pipeline, recommending and implementing improvements
• Effectively communicate and support your designs and decisions
• Work under pressure and deliver results with multiple stakeholders
• Experience in: user research, mockups, visual design, and prototyping at all fidelities
• Good written and communication skills (English)

• Proficiency with modular design

• Proficiency in C#/Unity
• Experience with additional Adobe products
• Experience with using Source Control (git)
• Experience with using Jira
