Job Summary:

Enovix is seeking a Senior Coating Equipment Engineer for Enovix’ coating team to produce our revolutionary high energy density silicon batteries. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, procuring and installing electrode coating tools and equipment. Additionally, will possess troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, a demonstrated ability to clearly communicate to cross-functional teams both inside and outside of the organization.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop electrode coating tool specifications and requirements, partner with tool vendors and system integrators for the building and commissioning of equipment to support the company’s new internal coating operation
  • Partner with tool vendors for the building and bring-up of the equipment
  • Support coating manufacturing process scale up and production ramp
  • Support escalation activities and troubleshoot pilot line and production equipment
  • Utilize equipment maintenance data and metrics to drive improvement initiatives
  • Implement statistical process controls on applicable manufacturing equipment
  • Develop and manage risk assessments to prioritize process improvement projects


Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Five years’ experience with battery electrode coating tools such as mixing, slitting, calendaring equipment
  • Industrial equipment experience supporting coating process scale-up from pilot through to high-volume manufacturing
  • Possess a working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), pilot/mass-production process development, Design of Experiments (DOE), and data analysis
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, documentation and presentation
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently with cross functional teams, customers, internal and external partners
  • Enthusiasm for problem solving, trouble shooting and continuous learning
  • Multi-tasking, hands-on, independent and a self-motivated contributor
