Job Description
Under general supervision, as a member of the child life team, the Gaming Tech Specialist contributes to a positive hospital experience for patients and families during their hospital stay. Responsible for providing overall gaming strategy, training and technical support for systems such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), PlayStation, Nintendo, Xbox, PC, adaptive technologies etc. Assists with assessing, installing, documenting, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting gaming systems and related hardware within the context of the child life services. Uses technology in innovative ways within the context of child life. Additionally, the Gaming Tech Specialist position is designed to support patients who are staying on inpatient units in the use of various forms of technology. Introduce technology for patient use, with the goal of helping patients stay connected to the outside world and coping during hospitalization. Reports to Manager of Child & Family Support Services.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's degree in computer, information technology, or related field is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of working with children. Experience in the gaming field, health care setting or both is preferred.
