Job Description

The Technical Artist acts as a bridge between the artists and programmers, ensuring the art content and features are easily integrated into the VR training modules, while respecting the artistic vision and technical constraints of the project.

Responsibilities include setting up and maintaining the workflow, pipelines and tools of art production; establishing standards and best practices for asset creation; recommending art packages and tools and training the team in their effective use; investigating and implementing new rendering techniques; shader and lighting optimization; supporting artists and engineers in the use of the 3D art pipeline and creating documentation; supporting the art team in achieving visual targets and performance requirements.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical art position in the video game industry or closely related field
  • Expertise in a variety of modeling and art tools (Maya specifically.)
  • Unity experience
  • Scripting experience for tools and pipelines (Python, C#, etc.)
  • Comfortable viewing sometimes graphic surgical reference materials and videos
  • Comfortable spending extended time in VR
  • High speed internet connection without data caps
