Job - Information and Technology - Instructional Designer

Duration: 9 Months with chances of extension

Location: Plainville, MA

Shift - Hybrid Schedule

Must Have

Strong experience in developing e- content, can work cross-functionally, ideally has a Bio-Tech Pharma background. Samples of content designed must be provided .

The position provides instructional design for Viral Vector Services division of as part of the VVS Learning & Development team. The successful candidate will be a creative, dynamic individual with an understanding of crafting engaging eLearning material to support to the department's initiatives and be able to handles multiple projects simultaneously.

How will you make an impact?
  • Lead groups of cross-functional/site stakeholders and subject matter experts to manage the instructional design and development process for new training content, course updates and onboarding initiatives.
  • Generate interactive self-paced eLearning courses, videos, podcasts, online assessments, games and simulations, interactive forms, job aids, virtual/remote live or recorded instructor-led programs and virtual reality (VR, AR and MR) content.
  • Support VVS teams by conceptualizing, designing and building learning and development content.
  • Work with subject matter experts to capture video, audio, and photographic content to aid in the creation of the training materials. Utilize a variety of methods and authoring tools including Articulate Rise, Storyline, video editing, video creation and editing, graphics editing, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Conduct needs assessments, create measurable learning objectives, design and develop, storyboard, pilot/test and create maintenance plans for continuous improvement of online learning solutions.
  • May Deliver or assist in the delivery of formal instructor-led or virtual trainings.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities.
How will you get here?
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Media/Design, English, Education; or other related degree with relevant work or internship experience; instructional design experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience designing and developing virtual training in a highly technical field using Captivate, Articulate or other similar eLearning authoring tool
  • Experience following a structured design process, such as ADDIE or SAM, including conducting organized needs analyses, creating design documents, storyboarding, scriptwriting, and evaluating outcomes.
  • High proficiency in the use of Microsoft office programs, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Basic graphics and video creation/editing experience preferred
  • Solid spelling, grammar, and writing skills required to create and edit content
  • Must be results oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as optimally within a team environment
  • Must possess strong project/time management skills, including the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and time sensitive situations
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and responsibly regarding project progress and timelines; able to gain consensus
  • Strong problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to adapt to changing priorities, including timelines and expected deliverables
