Expected compensation: $64.00 - $73.00 per hour
HireArt is helping the world's largest social network find an Interaction Sound Designer to create unique, memorable, and landmark sound designs for more than two billion users.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience creating sonic experiences for products in mobile, hardware, VR, and non-traditional or immersive environments.
All candidates must have an interactive sound design portfolio, which demonstrates design in shipped products.
As An Interaction Sound Designer, You Will
- Create unique, memorable, and landmark sound designs for more than two billion users.
- Define and distill broad concepts into actionable tasks and points of interest.
- Lead and contribute to sound design projects from concept to implementation to completion.
- Drive strategic sound design initiatives internally and with partner teams.
- Act as a source of truth for all things sound including design, design standards, best practices, and implementation guidelines.
- Execute in a fast-paced and highly fluid environment.
- Collaborate independently with on-campus, domestic, and international team members and product groups.

Requirements
- 3+ years of experience creating sonic experiences for products in mobile, hardware, VR, and non-traditional or immersive environments
- Experience in sound synthesis and how to create sounds from oscillators
- Experience with Pro Tools and other digital audio workstations
- Strong skill in technical sound design and implementation in audio and game engines including Unity (preferred), Wwise, and Unreal
- Deep knowledge of interaction sound design and its effects on people
- Interaction sound design portfolio demonstrating design in shipped products
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience deeply thinking about product strategy and vision
- Experience leading independently with team members and cross-functional product groups
- Understanding of programming and technical sound paradigms in VR, AR, or other immersive mediums
Commitment: This is a full-time (40 hours per week), 6-month contract position through HireArt and available to candidates local to the Menlo Park, CA; Los Angelos, CA; and New York, NY areas. This position will be performed fully remotely until offices reopen.
