Sound Designer to contribute to our sound design efforts and push the quality and innovation to the next level with our talented Audio Team!
Responsibilities:
- Design, edit, mix and implement sound effects in line with the creative vision.
- Collaborate with audio, design and engineering to develop and define audio pipelines and systems.
- Collaborate with audio and other disciplines to establish the creative direction and drive SFX quality to define the audio style of the project.
- Playtesting and debugging game audio systems.
- Assist in maintaining audio-related documentation.
- Contribute to the culture of learning within the audio team through knowledge sharing.
- Assist with establishing and enforcing best practices for audio outside of the core audio department.
- Be an advocate for audio to non-audio teams and partner with them to find the best possible audio solutions to challenges.
- Work with external audio outsource providers when necessary.
Requirements:
- 1+ commercially shipped AAA titles on console, PC, and/or VR games with a track record of technical sound design and implementation skills.
- Experience in in-game audio implementation using Wwise via Unreal Engine 4.
- Ability to create a wide range of SFX, from realistic to abstract.
- Foley recording and creation experience.
- Experience in commonly available audio tools and software such as Reaper, Nuendo, Pro Tools, Sound Forge, etc.
- Mixing, loudness measuring, and final audio polish skills.
- Good understanding of interactive music composition, music editing and mastering.
- Ability to work independently and organize pipelines.
- Can multitask and handle several tasks or projects simultaneously.
- Excellent cross-department communication and collaboration.
Pluses:
- Experience with VR/AR development.
- Familiarity with 3D spatialized audio.
- Experience mixing in 5.1 and 7.1 surround for games and linear media.
- Some programming, scripting, or UE4 Blueprint experience.
- Proficiency in Reaper and Sound Forge.
- Comfortable recording and directing voice talent.
- Bachelor's degree in either Music Technology, Audio Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
