STEM Center USA offers hands-on, individualized K-12 STEM programs. We make learning fun, meaningful, and long lasting. We work to equip our next generation with life skills including critical thinking, creativity, and a basic understanding of how technology works. Since 2011, STEM Center USA has offered programs throughout Southern California and worldwide reaching over 20,000 students.
STEM Center USA has designed a unique sequence of courses and activities that have been field tested at our centers, classrooms, and community spaces with great success. Today, STEM Center USA offers weekly classes at our Robotics Creativity Centers, virtual programs, custom learning kits, and professional development.
About the Migrant Education Program (MEP)
We are currently hiring virtual instructor's specifically for STEM Center USA's MEP Program.
This federally funded program is focused on providing migratory students with learning opportunities related to mathematics and english standards. STEM Center USA partners with 24+ regions and districts nationwide to provide students in K-12th grade with hands-on, STEM focused summer programs while also integrating core math and ELA/ELD concepts. Courses include an introduction to electronics, virtual reality, 3D modeling, and more. All programs are held virtually.
Schedule
Training will take place virtually between May 16 - June 3rd. It will be held synchronously/asynchronously to accommodate various work schedules. Work dates in which student programs run are held Monday - Friday from June 6th - July 29th.
Who are we looking for
The ideal virtual STEM instructor is someone that is excited to work with students and introduce them to STEM concepts. No prior experience in coding is required, however experience working with children is recommended. Credentialed teachers looking for summer hours (up to 30 hours/week) are highly needed. In addition, we accept undergrad and graduate students, as well as working professionals. All applicants must be proficient or higher in speaking Spanish.
This will be our biggest summer yet with 3000+ students served within an 8-week timespan. We need your help to make this a success. We need your help to continue making an impact on virtual STEM learning with this wonderful community. Potential work opportunities exist past the summer.

Application Process
STEM Center USA is highly selective of its virtual STEM instructors. We want our team to engage with students, serve as role models, and understand the importance of this program.
This application is the first step in applying for the Virtual STEM Migrant Education Program. STEM Center USA is excited to work with 3000+ students this summer from California, Colorado, and Oregon. Summer programs typically run Monday - Friday between the hours of 9 AM PST - 5 PM PST. STEM Center USA's hiring process uses the following format:
1) Initial Google Survey (this link)
2) One-Way Recorded Interview (by invite only)
3) Live Interview with Current Migrant Lead Instructor (by invite only)
4) Final Live Interview with Manager (by invite only)

Training Dates: May 16th, 2022 - June 3rd, 2022 (evening synchronous and asynchronous hours)
Work Dates: June 6th, 2022 - July 29, 2022
- Part-Time (~10 - 15 hours, Monday - Friday)
- Full-Time (~20 - 30 hours, Monday - Friday)
Compensation Rate
$25 - $35 per hour. Training is held at $25/hour. Upon completing ~30-40 hours of training, instructors will be bumped up to $30 - $35/hr dependent on their training level, age range of students they are working with, and teaching credentials (if applicable).
