Ardent Blue Technologies is a software development and staff augmentation company doing business since 2011. We have secured well recognized Fortune 500 clients in a number of domains including game development, game/film/architecture tools, game anti-cheat, IoT, VR and others.


We are looking to hire a Development director for our client, a VR technology studio in Miami that is presently developing a AAA first person shooter VR game like no other. Position can be remote however relocation costs are covered for candidates who are open to make a move.


We have a current opening for an experienced Development Director who is capable of bringing a VR shooter to the next level in the game industry. As development director you will implement and oversee production processes related to scheduling and be responsible for ensuring the successful development and delivery of the game's features within budget and to the desired quality.


RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Drive the delivery of features across the organization
  • Clearly communicate deliverables and scope and capacity to the team
  • Work on roadmap planning with craft leads, and aligning with team leadership to establish time and targets
  • Implement planning, estimating and scheduling processes
  • Run, sprint, and milestone planning meetings
  • Identification and escalation of risks and concerns about targets for features and milestones
  • Establish mitigation strategies to de-escalate risks.
  • Drive and support hiring for your team; help define roles and responsibilities. Work with recruiting and participate in interviews to build the organization
  • Drive and establish processes across project management tools; planning, scope/capacity tracking, tool and plugin testing, and establishing best practices
  • Manage a team providing career growth, feedback, and reviews across a wide variety of disciplines.

QUALIFICATIONS


  • 10 years plus working in the game industry
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4 games
  • Shipped AAA game titles required
  • Some experience working in Virtual Reality a plus
  • Extensive experience with Project management tools using agile and waterfall methodologies for task tracking.
  • Ability to define and maintain score and capacity for the organization and map out those details into deliverables for upcoming deadlines.
  • Comfortable with a young, developing studio and is able to self-direct and refine processes.
