The Video QC & Metadata Operations team is responsible for ensuring the quality of video content that surfaces to customers via the Apple services ecosystem. Our content includes Apple TV+ Originals, Fitness+, Channels, Film, TV, Extras and Apple Music Videos. Our primary focus is to make certain that all of our available video content adheres to our high-quality standards and is delivered error-free from our partners and processed efficiently.


We’re looking for an Advanced Media QC Specialist with a passion for video quality to join the AMP Video QC & Metadata Operations team. This team is responsible for reviewing all video content that surfaces to users in over 100 countries globally. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for day-to-day quality testing of next generation advanced media content deliverables and for understanding the end-to-end life cycle of Apple Original content. Collaboration with our Production, Distribution, Engineering, Platform Operations and Project Management teams will be an integral part of the position. The chosen candidate will also be encouraged to contribute ideas to improve systems, automate processes and increase the teamʼs efficiency.

The AMP Video Operations organization’s core focus is providing the best viewing experience for customers across all video products including Film, TV, Original Content, Music Videos and next generation advanced media. Our responsibilities range from working with video distribution partners to ingest compliant assets and metadata, partnering with developers of streaming video applications to integrate with our platform’s various video services, and maintaining quality control of deliveries to ensure that they perform correctly across our ecosystem and per our service level agreements. In an effort to provide a truly global experience, we focus heavily on localization and accessibility across all of our video products and devices.


Key Qualifications

A strong understanding of advanced media offerings such as AR/VR and Immersive video experiences, 4K, HDR, DolbyVision and DolbyATMOS, as well as how this content is created and processed from production to post to distribution.

Experience in QC/QA issue tracking/reporting and quality measurement.

You have a thorough understanding of digital video industry tools and standards governing QC, QoE, QoS and workflow management.

You possess a thorough working knowledge of common technical issues found in digital video and audio, as well as a strong understanding of immersive media, metadata, video encoding, container formats, codecs and their common failures or technical challenges.

Experience in working with scripting languages to automate workflows and data validation is also beneficial.

You possess the flexibility and ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.

Able to work independently and act decisively.

You can focus under pressure, with proven experience working on complex, global, time-critical projects.

You have excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. You are able to communicate clearly and concisely across multiple audiences and partners, with the ability to explain analytical outcomes and technical roadblocks in business terms.

You possess the ability to deliver impactful presentations at all levels of the organization.

You are skilled at developing and exercising cross-functional influence, translating between business owners and technical teams.

You actively detect and propose solutions for process inefficiencies.

You have current knowledge of the OTT video industry, AR/VR and Immersive media content, and video apps with a focus on video quality & metadata.

You have a deep familiarity with the Apple ecosystem of services and hardware (Mac OS X, iOS, TV app, Fitness+, Apple Music, App Store, Trailers, Apple TV, etc.)


Description

Daily management of video quality control and compliance

Execute full reviews of next generation video assets, audio files, subtitles, audio descriptions, captions and metadata to assess quality and report errors

Troubleshoot immersive video/audio asset issues, customer complaints and platform playback anomalies

Develop workflows and processes for the AMP Video QC & Metadata Operations program to effectively manage quality, volume and priorities of AMP video content

Contribute innovative ideas regarding process, video workflow and automation to maximize efficiency and scalability

Work cross-functionally and build relationships with other AMP teams including Distribution, Metadata, Engineering, Platform Operations, and Program Management

Maintain a consistent record of responding decisively and clearly to both internal and vendor inquiries

Make reasonable, autonomous decisions and know when to raise issues

Remain current with industry trends, technologies and third party tools to drive process improvements and system enhancements

Communicate vision and goals, and help to set expectations with management and cross-functional stakeholders across AMP

Understand, promote and communicate Apple’s philosophy and values


Education & Experience

7+ years of relevant experience in the digital media or technology industry
