Apex Systems is seeking an Entry Level Virtual Reality Engineer in the Columbus OH area.


This candidate will work within networking/infrastructure with the Oculus head set to develop a virtual reality training and development program. No experience is required, but an interest and exposure to AR/VR equipment is helpful!


Location: Columbus OH *Travel Possible for Site Visits*

Hours: M-F, 40 hours per week. Will need to be on site two days per week at least.


JOB SUMMARY

  • Part of a larger team delivering high quality Computer, Network, Storage and End-User Infrastructure technology solutions, on-going support to the business. Assists with XR (Extended Reality) project assignments.
  • Helps plan, research, evaluate, design, and engineer the enterprise's XR technology infrastructure (e.g. Oculus Quest, MS Hololens, InTune, Airwatch).
  • Helps provide technical support and troubleshooting, and recommendations for XR equipment.
  • Produces technical documentation, support and configuration. Helps manage, plan, and maintain technical platforms including upgrading systems.
  • Installs and configures hardware. Responsible for collaborating with other Job Families such as Project Managers, Architects, Solution Engineers, Technicians, Business Analysts to deliver consistent, reliable technology solutions that leverage technology standards, architectures and best practices.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Working under direct supervision, responsibilities include the following related to Computer, Network, XR Cloud, Cyber Security, and End-User infrastructure
  2. Perform basic & routine XR infrastructure project assignments.
  3. Assist with planning, researching, evaluating, designing, and developing systems.
  4. Provide basic technical support and assists with analysis, operation, administration, and troubleshooting activities.
  5. Assist with the preparation of cost estimates, justifications, application requirements, alternative solutions, and technical recommendations.
  6. Participate in the preparation of technical documentation including procedures, manuals, and reports.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, telecommunications, engineering, or related technical field.

Experience: No additional experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Experience using/Configuring AR/VR equipment, specifically Oculus Quest and MS Hololens

Familiar with Mobile Device Management software (e.g. Intune, AirWatch, ServiceNow)

Learn and adhere to policies, procedures, standards, codes and regulations relevant to assignments.

Develop knowledge of infrastructure, environment, components, and facilities to enable more efficient and comprehensive responses to projects and problems.


Candidates must be local to Columbus Ohio. Schedule will be hybrid but the days may vary and could be up to several days per week. Will also need to be in the office for the training period.
