The Meta Reality Labs Research team drives the state-of-the-art of AR and VR forward with breakthrough work in machine learning, displays, sensors, graphics, and new ways to map the human body. As a Technical Program Manager in Meta RLR, you'll be a critical member of a multi-disciplinary team building prototypes to advance these research efforts.To be successful, you will be eliminating barriers to your team's success, clearly communicating results to all stakeholders and ensuring the big picture stays in focus while delving into the details on specific issues. Manager, Technical Program Manager, Advanced Development Responsibilities:

  • Work with research and engineering teams to develop early prototypes.
  • Work with technical leads to convert ambiguous research proposals into actionable plans with comprehensive assessment of required resources.
  • Hold team members accountable for deliverables, while being flexible and adaptable as new research discoveries invalidate previous plans.
  • Coordinate communication between internal and external teams, vendors and partners.
  • Identify and communicate program requirements, scope, constraints, dependencies, and risks.
  • Provide key stakeholders with full visibility of the program schedule, progress and potential roadblocks.
  • Proactively identify technical, legal, procedural, logistical, and communication issues and drive creative solutions to fix them and manage risk.
  • Ensure that the information your team needs is complete, current, accurate, and accessible.
  • Establish best practices and refine processes for better communication and positive outcomes.
  • Cross disciplinary communication of hardware, software and electrical system requirements.
  • People Management for both technical and operational program managers.
  • Ability to travel 25%.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience developing prototype or V1 hardware + software systems based on New Technology Introduction (NTI)
  • 5+ years of Program Management experience: defining program goals, leading teams through delivery, representing the program and communicating progress, excellence in establishing trusted partnerships
  • Experience working with a cross-disciplinary team of researchers, software engineers and hardware engineers
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Optics, Physics, or Related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in consumer electronic product/prototype program management
  • Demonstrated experience working with cutting edge technologies with highly ambiguous development schedules
  • Experience with eye/face/hand/body tracking technology
  • Experience with Silicon and/or Sensor program management
