We aim to develop experiences that put people first, defining a future where virtual reality enables us to connect with the people and content we care about like never before.Reality Labs is seeking a Vertical Lead to develop and execute original and licensed vertical strategies for the Content organization, with a focus on Space & Studios categories. This position will work closely with our partner-facing and product teams to build inventory of various format types and distribute content effectively across VR & metaverse entertainment surfaces.

Vertical Lead Responsibilities:

  • Develop the holistic content strategy including budget plan, category goals, key partnerships and success criteria for the Space & Studios vertical
  • Function as Executive in charge (EIC) of vertical slate and main producer/point of contact across space and studio partners
  • Work cross-functionally to define audience targets, outline inventory gaps, and identify opportunities to better engage those targets
  • Identify partners and develop media content pipelines to drive audience adoption, growth, and retention
  • Work closely with business development teams to build media deal strategy and to support negotiation and execution of agreements, leveraging existing Meta relationships to fit into broader strategic partnership plans
  • Manage production partners and oversee execution and delivery of content (including identifying capabilities, negotiating terms, generating new partner agreements, and onboarding entities as vendors)
  • Act as liaison between partners and internal teams, including programming, operations, marketing, product, design
  • Problem-solve and unblock partners through whatever urgent problems or questions they have
  • Prioritize content programming based on performance and goal-driven metrics, to ensure successful results in collaboration with a cross-functional team
  • Work closely with all teams focused on operationalizing and distributing content to ensure product alignment and media content success. Collaborate with programming & content operations to define content schedule and release calendar by leveraging content management systems and tools
  • Fielding inbound interest from internal and external teams and reviewing concept pitches from partners and providing creative feedback to facilitate improvements to concepts
  • Reviewing partner footage, evaluating the content and production (including camera) setup, ensuring coverage of a live events, logistics with artists and creators, and de-risking onsite productions
  • Support go-to-market planning for new programs - communicating strategy and goals to Marcom functions, contributing to quantitative analysis, suggesting technical solutions, and designing new processes to optimize outcomes
  • Collaborate with Content Strategy & Insights to provide regular program updates and report performance, progress, and ROI analysis, as well as highlight any issues that need buy-in with recommendations to move forward

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience working in a production, programming, or partner management function at a production company, digital platform, media company or relevant industry
  • Experience thinking critically and creatively to resolve problems
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Marketing, Business Development, Legal, Data Insights, and other stakeholders
  • Production or program management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience producing immersive media/VR content
  • Experience with content and video management systems
  • Interest in trends in pop culture, entertainment, film/TV and space
  • Relevant studio relationships and entertainment industry contacts
  • Experience working with major studios and networks on programs
  • Demonstrated interest in new technology and the AR/VR industry
