Team Overview

The Intelligent Creation team focus on conducting cutting-edge research and development in the area of Computer Graphics, Computer Vision, Augmented Reality and Deep Learning, and continuously transfer innovative technologies to various ByteDance products. We are looking for talent at all levels to join us on this exciting journey!

Role Overview

We're looking for an experienced technical product manager to partner closely between engineers, designers, and multiple business lines to build the future of ByteDance's AR platform and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for building the technical foundation for intelligent effects, intelligent editing, and mixed reality experiences.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional Intelligent Creation members including researchers, software engineers, interactive engineers, and prototyping teams.

• Propose product solutions based on current and future business lines. Design schemes, generate data, evaluate quality and drive meaningful impact across ByteDance.

• Keep track of domestic and global industry trends, as well as having insights on AI, AR, and image-related technology development.

• Effectively guide technical directions and plan timelines, to maintain industry competitiveness and collaborate with more internal business partners.

• Coordinate cross-functional communication for capacity planning and launch. Create processes that enable teams to move efficiently and achieve key objectives.

• Educate and influence both internal leadership and external stakeholders on TikTok's AR platform tools strategy.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or above in computer science or related areas with 3-5+ years of product experience building technical AR/VR products, desktop tools or game engines

• Solid understanding of AR creation tool areas, such as 2D, 3D, tracking, particles, physics, scripting, graph editor, audio and machine learning

• Self-starter who can manage large cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and deliver results with limited supervision

• Strong ability to both grasp the bigger picture as well as dive into the details

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Passionate about TikTok and the developer / creator ecosystem

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working on a global product with stakeholders across different time zones
