Expected compensation: $73.00 - $84.00 per hour

HireArt is helping the world’s largest social network hire a Software Engineer (AR/VR) to partner with expert research scientists and other engineers to build cutting-edge prototypes and create the technology that makes AR/VR universal.

As a Software Engineer (AR/VR), You'll
  • Build an immersive VR environment in Unity that enables user studies and demos.
  • Integrate XR devices and other components to create end to end experiences.
  • Add logging and instrumentations to user studies to collect high quality data, which enables effective data analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with researchers, engineers, data scientists, and product managers to improve the speed at which research scientists can create demo and user studies.
  • Write clean code, test/validate the experience, debug complex problems, prioritize ruthlessly, and get things done with a high level of efficiency.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • 1+ years experience with game engines, such as Unity
  • Familiarity with C# and Python
  • Experience shipping one or more products of high complexity using standard software development tool sets, such as source control, unit testing and continuous integration systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with C++
  • Familiarity with logging framework and instrumentations
  • Experience with AR/VR
  • Experience in the domain of embedded systems development
Commitment: This is a full-time, 12-month contract position staffed via HireArt. It will be fully remote until offices reopen and is available to candidates local to Redmond, WA or Toronto, CA.
