Job Description

We are looking for a Junior Social AR Developer to join us. You live and breathe all things social AR - with a strong grasp of their technical limitations, you’re passionate about getting the most from these engines. You’ll work with support from seniors to give time estimates for projects and will work closely with our producers and wider development team to establish what is possible for clients within their timeline and budget.

We’re looking for someone who is keen to take charge on these projects – while you will have support from the team around you we’re looking for a self starter. You thrive in a fast-paced environment - social AR timelines are often short, and with excellent time management skills this is a challenge you’re up for! While you’re not responsible for creating assets, you’re familiar with taking and bringing them into social engines. An ability to accurately and clearly relay your asset feedback to artists is important to the smooth running of these projects. Equally, given the tight timelines for social AR projects, you’re happy and able to muck in if needed to amend assets.

This is an exciting opportunity to join and grow within a lovely team of like minded creators and makers.

Responsibilities
  • Developing interactive and interesting AR effects with script or modular scripting
  • Working with wider team to create a good user flow and experience in XR environments
  • Work with artists to bring assets into social engines, feeding back as appropriate
  • Test AR effects on device and work with the team to solve any issues that arise
  • Collaborate with the wider team on prototypes and proof of concept exploration
  • Work with seniors and production to give time estimates for projects
  • Be well informed on Social AR, the latest features of Snap and Spark and how they can be used in client projects
  • Continually looking for ways to improve the way we run and organize Social AR projects
Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role or freelancing
  • Examples of published AR effects in Spark and/or Snap
  • Familiar using JavaScript and shader code within social AR projects
  • Demonstrable experience working on 2D and 3D assets, optimizing them for Social AR - a bonus if you’re familiar with low poly modelling
  • A bonus if you’re familiar with any of C4D/AE/Maya/Blender/PS
  • Experience of gamification within lenses / HTML5
  • Eager problem solver with great attention to detail
  • Great communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
  • A self-starter with strong time management skills
  • Present your own work with confidence and clearly explain your ideas
