At Reality Labs Research, you will join a world-class team exploring cutting edge machine learning, computer vision, hardware, software, and state-of-the-art augmented and mixed reality technology. Every day, you will work alongside the world's leading Research Scientists, and Engineers to create the technology that will make VR and AR pervasive and universal.We are looking for a strong Academic Relations Program Manager for supporting our academic partners to perform research based on egocentric data and AR form factor. This person will be responsible for building engagement programs that support academic partner ecosystems and provide direction to execute on strategies that enable our academic partners collaboration in this space. This person will be responsible for establishing and managing strategic relationships with key academic partners and help build strong relationships with the academic community through events and conferences. This role will work cross-functionally with the policy, legal, marketing, PR and operations teams to optimize capabilities, improve user experience, and ensure our partners are successful. The role will advise, issue-spot, propose strategies and/or execute academic engagement plans to support the broader Reality Labs Research, ensuring Reality Labs Research outcomes have a track record of responsible innovation and credible policy/communications messaging.The ideal candidate has a strategic mindset, relationship-focused approach, and strong communication skills.
Academic Relations Program Manager Responsibilities:
- Establish Project university consortium program’s operating model
- Build a strong pipeline for Project university partnership
- Work with product to define Project initial product offerings to academic community
- Streamline Project academic partnership support model and ensure smooth onboarding
- Drive research activity and academic engagement in conference (e.g., CVPR this year)
- Establish plan for future Project workshop with academic community
- Manage CWs for contractual and logistical operation Report on research impact achieved through academic partnerships
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years of work experience in consulting, business operations, program management or other operational disciplines
- Expertise of key terms in academic contracts and academic norms in the US
- 5+ years program management experience in settings that include academic, government or industry research collaborations
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS, JD or PhD
- Understanding and interest for technology
- Experience with setting up complex, multi-party research collaborations
- Familiarity with academic contracting outside the US Established network of University contacts both inside and outside of the US
- Experience working in a University or non-profit research organization environment
- Technical literacy in one or more of FRL’s research areas
