The Alexa Communications team is reinventing the way customers communicate with their loved ones. Our products include audio and video calling, audio and video Drop In (intra and inter-household intercom), messaging, and announcements—as well as a suite of cross-cutting AR filters and fun reactions. With our products, it’s easy for customers to quickly drop in to check on pets at home; hangout with a sibling halfway around the world while cooking dinner; help the kids hangout with Abuela for an hour while pretending to “swim in the fish bowl” or “dress up like hotdogs”; send a parent a “hug”; and announce to everyone in the house that “dinner is ready…ding ding ding” so everyone gets downstairs before it gets cold. Key job responsibilities

As a Product Leader, You Will

Customers love what Alexa can already do. They are even more excited about her future potential. As a Principal Product Manager - Technical in Alexa Comms, you will be responsible for building relationship-based products that help customers strengthen and deepen their connections with their loved ones.
  • Own and define the vision, strategy, and product roadmap, manage tradeoffs and dependencies with key stakeholders, and execute on deliverables
  • Work closely with the engineering and science teams to develop an offering that will delight customers
  • Drive product launches including working with business development, Alexa partner teams, public relations team, executives in other companies, and other product management team members
  • Monitor the business and refine the roadmap
This role is cross-functional -- you will work closely with engineering, science, design, business intelligence, operations, finance and executive teams to bring features to market and develop and grow business opportunities for Amazon. A successful candidate will be highly analytical, able to work effectively in a matrix organization, and adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into high quality, simple products and applications that customers love.


Basic Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience with end to end product delivery
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience overseeing roadmap strategy and definition and execution
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or Master’s degree
  • Experience delivering consumer software products and services in a high growth environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives
  • History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Passion for creating innovative solutions for consumers
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs and evaluate new ideas
  • High attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with continuous innovation.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions
