Job Description: We are looking for a talented and motivated student intern or contractor for a 3 - 6 month opportunity to conduct user research and usability testing for cutting edge XR features and technologies.
Key responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional XR team including UX, engineering, and product management to help drive and refine requirements for cutting edge XR technologies.
Work closely with lead UX researchers and engineers to conduct user research and usability testing using a variety of methodologies including: lab-based user testing, expert reviews, field testing, interviews, and literature reviews.
Responsibilities include: Creating test methodologies, user metrics, and test procedures/protocols, collecting and analyzing data, creating test reports, and presenting to cross-functional teams.
Preferred qualifications:
Enrolled in a graduate/undergraduate program (or BA/BS, MA/MS, PhD) in HCI, Human factors, Cognitive psychology, Computer science or related field.
0 - 3 years related experience.
Experience and interest designing and conducting lab-based user studies or field research and analyzing quantitative data.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Nice to have:
Experience with commercial XR headsets for AR, VR, or MR (e.g., Oculus Quest, Hololens 2, etc.).
Experience applying various qualitative and quantitative user research methods.
Comfortable with common quantitative data analysis tools and scripting languages (e.g., Excel, Python, Matlab).
Design skills are a plus (e.g., wireframes, graphic design, 3D prototyping).
