Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Specialist Solutions Architect who is passionate about helping customers develop immersive 3D applications using (AR/VR) technologies.

As an AR/VR Specialist Solutions Architect, you will possess broad technical expertise, passion in the AR/VR space, strong interpersonal skills, and experience in related technologies such as 3D development and immersive applications. You will have a strong understanding of large-scale computing solutions, continuously hone and expand your skill set, and effectively lead deep architecture discussions. Successful candidates possess equal parts creativity with equal parts cloud-integration experience. You will be advising customers (as well as your peers within Amazon) on AR/VR strategy and relevant use cases, designing and delivering workshops, and rapid prototyping Proofs-of-Concept and pilot engagements where path-to-production deployment is anticipated. You will build architectures and provide prescriptive guidance for both AR/VR development as well as cloud computing architecture and traditional software development. You’ll also work closely with cross functional teams from Marketing, Sales, Business Development, and Services teams to build and identify repeatable use cases and articulate their benefits on a wider platform. This will be done via blogs, Reference Architectures, best practice presentations and customer immersion days.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Work across the greater AWS ecosystem to distill customer needs and influence product features and road map for AR/VR workloads.
  • Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and Customer Support
  • Develop and deliver content and programs (e.g., training, reference architectures) to scale your impact
  • Build AR/VR demonstrations and deliver them in 1:1 and 1:many formats
  • Help customers work with partners and AWS Professional Services to take solutions from Proof-of-Concept into pilot and ultimately production on AWS

Basic Qualifications
  • BS level technical degree required; Computer Science or Mathematics background preferred
  • 10+ years of experience developing and deploying production web or enterprise-scale solutions
  • Experience presenting technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience designing, implementing, or consulting with Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Mixed Reality, 3D, or immersive applications
  • Intellectual curiosity to keep technical skills current and stay abreast of industry trends and applications. Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
  • Comfort speaking with and presenting to executives, IT managers, and developers (internal and external)
  • Experience architecting or operating solutions built on AWS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with 3D geometry workflows, such as, 3D Scanning, Material and Texture Development, and Real Time Rendering.
The pay range for this position in Colorado is $182,000- $247,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
