At Snap Lab we are developing Augmented Reality Spectacles , putting virtual objects in the real world. Supporting the continuous growth and evolution of the Spectacles platform, our team is working hard on creating the platform and SDK to build AR experiences as part of our mission to bring immersive experiences on AR Eyewear to more people, places, and moments, every day and ensure Snap’s role in a mixed reality future.

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join the Snap Lab team and be part of AR future today!

What You’ll Do

• Design, implement, improve, and support the platform of reusable components, frameworks and SDKs that enable immersive experiences on Snap Spectacles AR Glasses.
• Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices via code and design reviews.
• Partner with design and product teams to shape and launch products.
  

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and complexity.
• Strong understanding of optimization, memory management, and concurrency.
• Production experience of at least one of: Kotlin, Java, C#, Swift, or a comparable language.
• Experience in delivering top quality, scalable code with unit testing in a complex system.
• Motivated engineer who can learn quickly on an evolving set of technologies.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail.
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or greater) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar program with a focus on Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience building and shipping high performance code in a production environment as part of a team.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience of building production systems in modern C++.
• Knowledge and good understanding of OS concepts such as IPC, security models, and process management.
• 2+ years of Mobile or Embedded development experience.
• Experience from designing platform and/or frameworks APIs.
