Job Description

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience designing precision and cosmetic components using mechanical fabrication and processing techniques (injection molding/casting/sheet metal/co-molding/plating/etching/wire bonding/CNC)
  • 5 years of experience in a product design environment

Preferred qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field
  • 1 year of experience in technical leadership
  • Experience in microelectronics design, thermal design, and fabrication
  • Experience in design and conceptualization of product components and subsystems for consumer electronic hardware devices
  • Experience in high-volume component design
  • Ability to parse systems into discrete variables/goals and communicate concepts at the component and system level

About The Job

As a Product Design Engineer, you will work closely with Product Design execution, New Technology Integration (NTI), and Research and Development teams developing cross-functional solutions for current and next generation Augmented Reality products. You will work on current/future generation system key performance indicators (KPIs), layouts, architecture trades, and product feature development. You'll work on the system form factor devices and display integration/development technologies, systems, and display KPI impact assessments and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Design and conceptualize product components and subsystems for consumer electronic devices and services.
  • Design product with aesthetic consumer electronic components.
  • Design Electromechanical and optomechanical subsystems such as connectors, switches, camera modules, light sources, projector systems, optoelectronic packages, and ophthalmic devices.
  • Design hardware including fit, comfort, anthropometry.
  • Develop advanced material and processing techniques for cross-disciplinary, mechanical, optical, and electrical system components.
