Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of product management experience.
  • Experience with consumer electronics and hardware products.
  • Experience driving elements of the product development lifecycle such as product vision, prototyping product requirements, and launch.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience prototyping, building, and shipping hardware products.
  • Experience with prototyping frameworks, and working with partners or vendors.
  • Experience building a holistic strategy and execution plan for v1 products.
  • Experience testing hypotheses and pathfinding towards the best user experience in product categories.
  • Experience in AR/VR products and technologies, or interest and practical knowledge of the field.
  • Excellent technical, communication, and design intuition skills for consumer products.

The Augmented Reality (AR) Team is working on the future of computing and Google’s central role in this emerging space. We build innovative hardware and software to help make computing more perceptive, immersive, and accessible. We are also responsible for Google’s AR developer platform on Android.

The Google Augmented Reality team is a diverse group of experts tasked with building the foundations for great immersive computing and building helpful, delightful user experiences. We're focused on making immersive computing accessible to billions of people through mobile devices, and our scope continues to grow and evolve.

Responsibilities

  • Help prototype the next generation of hardware for AR devices.
  • Define requirements of the hardware, working closely with engineering, design, and software teams.
  • Drive the development of hardware prototypes and lead the evaluation of these prototypes for product-market-fit.
