The Fashion Innovation Tech team within Amazon Fashion is looking for Software Development Engineer to help redefine and build new, exciting experiences for customers shopping for apparel and related fashion products. We own services that enable personalized customer experiences for our customers while pushing the envelope in the field of Computer Vision and Machine Learning on device. We’re looking for a thought leader to lead the charge with advanced engineering application of machine learning to address the unique and ambiguous problems in our space. You will work with talented peers in a team that provides opportunities to innovate in a start-up mode, partner with business teams to deliver customer experiences that disrupt status quo.
The ideal candidate is a strong, creative and highly-motivated Engineer with hands-on experience in leading multiple engineering initiatives. You strive for simplicity, demonstrate high judgment backed by sound statistical reasoning and robust machine learning models to deliver creative solutions. You will contribute to Amazon's customer-facing product lines.
Key job responsibilities
- Participate in the design, development, evaluation, deployment and updating of data-driven models and analytical solutions for machine learning (ML) applications.
- Develop and/or apply Machine Learning models (e.g. Deep Neural Networks), optimization methods, and other ML techniques to production code.
- Deploy ML models on available data on the edge and/or on cloud.
A day in the life
You will write production quality code to solve a variety of technical challenges. You will own the Key pieces of the technology roadmap and drive products and features that directly affect our growth in this critical space. You will partner with Engineering leaders on the development and execution of a technical roadmap that includes Machine Learning (ML), Computer Vision (CV), 3D visualization, and other emerging technologies.

We own services that enable personalized customer experiences for our customers while pushing the envelope through novel scientific research, advancing the state of art in the field of Computer Vision and Machine Learning.
Basic Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- Master's degree and 2+ years of experience in writing production quality code.
- Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Experience productizing Machine Learning and Computer vision algorithms is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Build, maintain and deploy Machine learning models on the edge.
- Knowledge of OpenGL/Cuda and ARkit/ARcore is a plus.
- Build advanced computer vision and advanced graphics with ARkit/ARcore and Filament, Scenekit and Vulkan.
- Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and nontechnical audience and breadth in state-of-the-art computer vision and machine learning technologies.
- Strong personal interest in learning, researching, and creating new technologies with high customer impact.
