Open Arts is organized as five global areas of focus: Commissions, Design, Experiences, Partnerships, and Strategy & Operations. Meta Open Arts is seeking a Strategic Programs Manager to join the Partnerships team to help us define the next chapter of art at Meta. Our work supports Meta in making its products more diverse, inclusive, and equitable. We champion art as a tool to bring creativity, criticality, and community to Meta technologies and the development of the metaverse. This work includes building relationships with Meta product teams and identifying opportunities for artist collaborations that expand artistic practice, contribute meaningfully to Meta products and experiences, and elevate a creative diversity. The role will report to the Open Arts Partnerships Lead and support initiatives globally. This role will partner closely with cross-functional teams across multiple internal business organizations with a strategic emphasis on Reality Labs, Product Design, Partnerships, and related teams. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of product design and knowledge of key Meta technologies including AR, VR, and AI. They will have experience managing relationships between creatives and product teams, cultivating strategic opportunities that leverage art and design; aligning multivariate business objectives; designing and executing projects at a range of scales and complexity; establishing and managing complex relationships; and building awareness and engagement among key constituencies. Strategic Programs Manager Responsibilities:
- Develop and operationalize a roadmap for creative collaborations with select Meta product teams and initiatives
- Monitor Meta product developments and initiatives to identify opportunities for Open Arts engagement and build related team knowledge and capacity in this field
- Identify trends and themes in art and product design, and translate to potential opportunities
- Together with Open Arts colleagues, develop and manage creative projects and collaborations at the intersection of art and technology
- Develop framework and process for measuring and communicating qualitative impact, program value, and quantitative ROI
- Increase awareness of Open Arts program and projects among internal stakeholders
- Provide project coordination support and follow internal processes for efficient communication, collaboration, and delivery
- Proactively identify technical, legal, procedural, logistical, and communication issues and drive creative mitigation strategies
Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge of key metaverse technologies (AI, AR, VR) and willingness to translate this knowledge into art opportunities
- Record of designing, building, and scaling projects and partnerships to deliver measurable business results
- Experience in relationship-building, pitching new projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Experience collaborating with creatives (artists, designers, illustrators, etc.) and technical teams
- Experience prioritizing tasks, managing deadlines, adapting to changing priorities, and balancing short-term needs with long-term goals in a fast-paced environment
- Experienced in project management and strategic planning including managing multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in project management tools and adopting new digital tools
- Entrepreneurial-spirited, deadline-oriented, and working on short timelines
Preferred Qualifications:
- An understanding of the current trends, conversations, needs, and opportunities at the intersection of art and technology
- Demonstrated critical thinking and thought leadership at the intersection of art, technology, and digital engagement
- Experience working with product designers and an understanding of product thinking
- Experience securing funding for novel projects and initiatives
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent program
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud
