SeedBolt Studios LLC is looking to fill a Unity Engineer/Senior Unity Engineer role. The role will be a contract position, with a goal of potentially bringing the right candidate on as a full-time employee on a 12-18 month timetable. We are also open to candidates who wish to continue to contract on a long-term basis, though our preference is to contract-to-hire.


The Unity Engineer will be responsible for a portfolio of client projects in the game design/build and/or interactive AR/VR experience/activation spaces. The ideal candidate will have a deep expertise in Unity and C#.


Location

Candidate ideally based in the Portland, OR area; open to full remote for exceptional candidates.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with design, art, code, QA and production management to ensure delivery of high-quality features.
  • Taking ownership of gameplay systems and maintaining clean, performant, and reliable code.
  • Providing input into the overall system architecture for our games.
  • Profiling and optimizing within Unity.
  • Use company tools/protocols to document work procedures, project management check-ins, etc.
  • Assist other members of the team with project help, brainstorming, etc., as needed.


Qualifications

  • A problem-solving mind and interest in creative development solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to integrate into, and work effectively within, a variety of client and internal team environments; friendly, collaborative, pragmatic, patient.
  • Expert Unity and C# knowledge and strong software design skills, including in game development.
  • Experience with Unity webGL or mobile app deployment/lifecycle a major plus
  • Understanding of clean code practices that are easily readable, editable and integratable by other developers.
  • Previous relatable experience including at least one shipped title. 
  • (Required for senior; bonus for junior/mid-level)
  • Understanding of version control systems, e.g. Git.
  • Experience with multiplayer networking a major plus
  • Sufficient project management skills to effectively use Jira and other organizational tools as needed.
