UES, Inc. has an opportunity available for an Augmented Reality (AR) / Virtual Reality (VR) Developer to join our collaborative multi-disciplined team working within the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. The focus will be addressing and closing the technology gaps in applying AR/VR in a manufacturing environment by developing new capabilities for implementing scalable and more interoperable AR/VR instances in complex and spatially cluttered environments, such as those present in manufacturing systems. The goal is to advance the state-of-the-art of AR/VR capabilities in the manufacturing environment thereby improving efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing and assembly operations.
A successful candidate will need strong innovation skills; A background in relevant fields (e.g., computer science, engineering, or game development), strong programming and communication skills, and a demonstrated willingness to advance their knowledge about the application domains (e.g., robotics, additive manufacturing, and Industry 4.0 technologies) will be required for this role. The AR/VR Developer will work closely with both AFRL materials engineers and manufacturing experts as well as professors, students, and staff to develop robust AR/VR installations coupled with other Industry 4.0 technologies. Consequently, experience with advanced communications technologies, such as cloud services and standard messaging protocols, is preferred.
