Job Title: Internal Communications Specialist, Augmented Reality

Starting: ASAP / Within two weeks

Salary/Pay Rate: Depends on experience (inquire with recruiter)


Client Location: Redmond, WA or Burlingame, CA

Remote? No. This role will be 100% onsite at client's campus in one of the above cities.


Hours: Full-time (40hrs/week)

Duration: 9 Months (temporary/freelance engagement)

Need to be fully vaccinated? Yes, client requires all its employees (even freelance) be fully vaccinated.

JOB DESCRIPTION


Aquent's Client is looking for an Internal Communications Specialist to support one of their research teams. Based in Menlo Park, California, this top social media company builds technologies that help people connect. Their mission is to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. The specific research team that this temporary role supports is working on building the future of connection within **virtual and augmented reality.** How cool is that?!


In this role you will support internal and external communications for Research. You will support internal events as well as external research announcements, functioning as a utility player across the Communications team. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about emerging technology, enjoys working with technical content, and excels at writing for a range of audiences – from internal audiences of researchers and engineers to consumer-tech press.


Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities and execute proactive internal communications plans for building Research culture between and among offices.
  • Review and edit academic publications and presentation materials.
  • Support external communications team on research announcements by creating briefing materials, providing project management support, and filling gaps as needed.
  • Collaborate across multiple functions including research, HR, legal and communications on communications plans.

Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field.
  • Minimum 8-10+ years of experience in communications, technical writing, journalism, or a related field at a tech company, news outlet, PR agency, or in a research setting.
  • Experience with and interest in technical content. Experience communicating to an employee population.
  • Strong writing, editing, and project management skills and ability to work cross-functionally. Powerpoint design skills are a plus.
  • Interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional team.
