VR Developer Intern (6 months duration)
Job Summary
The Digital Ecosystem Applications team is responsible for research and pre-development of future generation infotainment, connected vehicle and mobility concepts. The intern is responsible for participating in one/more of the projects in the team and contribute in Virtual Reality application development.
Job Responsibilities & Tasks
- Development of software modules for different cross-disciplinary VR projects.
- Implement immersive spatial computing experiences that showcase user journeys of our product concepts.
- Work closely with VR and design team to implement UX flows and technical challenges.
- Engage in brainstorming sessions to identify XR (Extended Reality) based front-end technologies to showcase customer-facing innovation concepts for mobility.

Qualifications, Specialized Skills, Knowledge or Other Requirements Unique to this Job
Required
- Must be enrolled at a University/College or Graduation date must be within the last six months.
- Self-motivated, flexible individual with high degree of ownership and accountability for results .
- Analytical and conceptual thinking – using logic and reason.
- Deep familiarity with real-time 3D applications like Unreal and Unity using C#/C++.
- Must have VR development experience (preferably using head mounted displays like Oculus Quest/Rift, Vive).
- Highly motivated to learn new technology .
Desired
- Experience with Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality application development.
- Experience with creating code packages, writing unit tests, or creating dynamic linked libraries.
- Experience with tools like Blender, Audacity, Photoshop/Premiere would be highly advantageous.
- Experience with design collaboration tools like Figma or Sketch.
What Technology or Technical Data will the Intern have access to?
- VR development using Unity, C#, Oculus and Vive hardware with a VR compatible PC.
- Evaluate and experiment with new spatial computing technology (both software and hardware).
- Ability to access, modify and evaluate VW Group software repositories.
