Sound Designer, AR/VR
Location: As of summer 2022 onsite in Menlo Park, CA
You are, first and foremost, a sound designer who has made and will continue to create iconic sounds for immersive experiences. You will be an instrumental part in the day-to-day sound design for AR/VR products. Working across internal, external and cross functional teams, you'll contribute sound design, audio direction, and feedback for a variety of AR/VR products.
Role/Responsibilities:
- Create world-class sound design for immersive AR/VR experiences, such as gaming and apps
- Collaborate closely with all partners to determine scope of work, planning and execution of sound design and implementation.
- Gain a deep understanding of product voice in order to maintain quality and leverage existing content for product consistency and efficiency.
- Provide clear and concise audio direction as well as feedback to third party vendors on sound design and implementation that is optimized for mobile devices.
- Prepping and testing for implementation accuracy as well as collaborating with internal and external team members to address bugs and optimize sounds in the product.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years in interactive and immersive sound design (not music/song design)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience designing audio for family friendly product experiences
- Able to manage, scope and communicate project milestones and deliverables with third party vendors
- Experience creating original sound design for high-profile products
- Experience testing implementation of sounds
- Experience working with and creating SFX/Foley/Dialog/Music
Preferred Skills:
- Mobile audio experience
- AR audio experience (preferably Spark)
- VR audio experience
- Experienced composer
