Expected compensation: $57.00 - $64.00 per hour

HireArt is helping the world’s largest social network hire a Sound Designer (AR/VR) who has made—and will continue to create—iconic sounds for immersive experiences.

In this role, you'll be an instrumental part in the day-to-day sound design for AR/VR products at the company.

Working across internal, external, and cross functional teams, you’ll contribute sound design, audio direction, and feedback for a variety of AR/VR products.

As a Sound Designer (AR/VR), You’ll
  • Create world-class sound design for immersive AR/VR experiences.
  • Collaborate closely with all partners to determine scope of work, planning, and execution of sound design and implementation.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the product's voice in order to maintain quality and leverage existing content for product consistency/efficiency.
  • Provide clear and concise audio direction as well as feedback to third party vendors on sound design and implementation that is optimized for mobile devices.
  • Perform prepping and testing for implementation accuracy as well as collaborating with internal/external team members to address bugs and optimize sounds in the product.

Requirements
  • 5+ years in interactive and immersive sound design
  • Experience designing audio for family friendly product experiences
  • Ability to manage, scope, and communicate project milestones and deliverables with third party vendors
  • Experience creating original sound design for high-profile products
  • Experience testing implementation of sounds
  • Experience working with and creating SFX/Foley/Dialog/Music
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Good To Have Skills
  • Mobile audio experience
  • AR audio experience (preferably Spark)
  • VR audio experience
  • Experience composing music
Commitment:This is a full-time, 6-month contract position staffed via HireArt and based in Menlo Park, CA. It will be fully remote until offices reopen and is available to candidates local to the Bay Area.
