Expected compensation: $75.00 - $86.00 per hour

HireArt is helping the world’s largest social network hire a Software Engineer (AR/VR) to manage and maintain open source natural language understanding libraries and SDKs.

This role will be fully remote to start and is available to candidates who can work onsite in Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Austin, TX; the Bay Area, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; New York, NY; Seattle, WA; or Washington, D.C. once offices reopen.

As a Software Engineer (AR/VR), You’ll
  • Support the external developer community by responding to Github issues and improving developer tooling features.
  • Support AI product development by developing new features in natural language understanding libraries and integrating libraries into consumer facing products.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of industry experience shipping production software as a software engineer
  • 1+ years developing and debugging in Haskell
  • Professional experience developing and debugging in PHP, C#, C/C++, Java or similar programming languages
  • Experience developing large scale full-stack web applications
  • Experience with git or other source control
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related field strongly desired but not required
  • Experience maintaining open source libraries and supporting open source communities
  • Experience building and supporting developer-facing products
  • Experience with machine learning and/or Natural Language Processing (NLP)
Commitment: This is a full-time 6-month contract position (with the potential for extension or conversion) staffed via HireArt and based in Redmond, WA. It will be fully remote to start and is available to candidates who can work onsite in Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Austin, TX; the Bay Area, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; New York, NY; Seattle, WA; or Washington, D.C. once offices reopen.
