Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in embedded/mobile system design, hardware architecture, board design and bring-up, New Product Introduction, new silicon, and product shipment.
  • Experience with schematic design of circuit boards, including chipset, memory, communication interfaces, and power.go.
  • Experience programming in Python.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in embedded/mobile system design, hardware architecture, board design, board bring-up, New Product Introduction experience, and product shipment.
  • Experience with architecture and schematic design of circuit boards, including chipset, memory, high-speed communication interfaces, and power.

The Google Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality team is a group of engineers, designers, and research scientists tasked with building the foundations for great immersive computing and prototyping helpful, delightful user experiences. We're focused on making immersive computing accessible to billions of people through mobile devices, and our scope continues to grow and evolve.

Responsibilities

  • Help define augmented and virtual reality architecture from a power, electrical, battery, and day-of-use perspective.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define the compute workloads and pipelines for augmented and virtual reality experiences.
  • Plan and lead validation of ASIC power and day-of-use model for augmented and virtual reality experiences.
  • Plan and develop power measurement infrastructure for build regression testing.
  • Work cross-functionally to drive battery requirements and decisions for augmented and virtual reality products.
