Summary/Objective

Silver Spoon excels at virtual production, working across industries from film, broadcast, and gaming to television, commercials, and entertainment. Our mission is simple: constantly innovate to expand the boundaries of real-time production. We have just opened a brand new Extended Reality/Virtual Production studio in Nyack, New York and are looking to extend our staff to support productions and general studio operations.


The Virtual Production Engineer is primarily responsible for the operation and maintenance of the hardware and software used in our Virtual Production Studio - XR New York. As Virtual Production and Extended Reality are emerging fields, assisting in research and development of new workflows and technologies will be a large part of the day to day tasks when the studio is not actively in use. 


Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain Virtual Production equipment at Nyack studio, including:
  • Operating Disguise and Unreal media servers
  • Assisting in inventory management of Virtual Production equipment
  • Basic network configuration and other related tasks.
  • Assist in Research and Development of new technologies and workflows.
  • Assist in building out video systems for off-site studios, both permanent and temporary.
  • Assist in prepping video systems for off-site productions.
  • Provide constructive feedback on current operational systems and workflows.
  • Coordinate the reception and return of rental equipment.
  • Work closely with other team members during productions to ensure a smooth process and successful project


Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Live Events, TV or Film production
  • Intermediate computer networking skills
  • Technical troubleshooting skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to problem-solve on the fly.
  • Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
  • Strong communicator that requires minimal guidance in the execution of tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Zoom, and Slack
  • Flexibility to travel


Preferred Skills

  • Virtual Production experience 
  • Experience with 3D graphics and environment creation for gaming or virtual reality
  • Working knowledge of Unreal Engine
  • Working knowledge of Disguise media servers
  • Understanding of rendering, framerates and GPU loads
  • Understanding of camera tracking and motion capture concepts
  • Understanding of video signal processing and distribution 
  • Knowledge and willingness to learn large format display technology (LED and projection).
