Description

SAIC is seeking an Engineer of Virtual Reality experiences for the U.S. Navy’s submarine fleet. Each experience requiring references to Technical Manuals, SoPs, and consultation with SMEs. This role is located in Keyport, WA and there are some work from home options available.

Job Duties

• Creates design documents to include narration scripts, interactions, and storyboards.
• Generates model design specs for artists.
• Created issues for team’s Kanban board with required supportive documentation.
• Advises team on how to improve production practices, including importance of color theory, diegetic vs non-diegetic interfaces, and agile practices.
• Develops, directs, plans and evaluates programs or activities to meet external customer or internal employee training, simulation or learning objectives utilizing game technologies and/or methodologies.
• Assignments may include needs analysis, requirements gathering, custom application design and/or development, 2 and 3 dimensional object and world design and development, animation, sound design and development, development of criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of application objectives, and evaluation and learning assessments.
• Collaborates with customer and/or internal functional organization to develop, enhance, and/or evaluate new or existing learning objectives and application content.
• May create course content, training materials, visual aids and documentation to support a variety of interactive formats including lab exercises, field training, computer-based training (CBT), and/or web-based training (WBT).
  

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

• 9 years of experience with a Bachelors degree - additional years of experience accepted in lieu of degree
• 5+ years experience in C+/++ OR Python OR UNity Game Engine (or similar database)
• Experience creating/maintaining applications for Augmented Reality/Virutal Reality
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to develop new experiences under specific technical and artistic requirements.
• Digital art background that combines technical and engineering skills with creativity and aesthetic sensibilities that stand out.
• Experienced video editor.
• Animator and graphics designer with the ability to identify best solutions and techniques for conveying complex information. Proven ability to work with a team to deliver high-quality output in a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline-oriented environment.
• Must be able to obtain an interim Secret clearance and then a Secret clearance once on board
