Job Description

Job Description

At Boeing, we innovate and collaborate to make the world a better place. From the seabed to outer space, you can contribute to work that matters with a company where diversity, equity and inclusion are shared values. We’re committed to fostering an environment for every teammate that’s welcoming, respectful and inclusive, with great opportunity for professional growth. Find your future with us.

The Product Systems Information Technology & Data Analytics organization has openings for Associate Factory XR Software developers to join our growing Factory XR team to configure, extend and implement Extended Reality (XR) solutions for the factory. Come join us, to be a part of the first XR product team at the Boeing company that is deploying fully supported and industrialized solutions to the factory floor. If you are passionate about the applications of XR to the real world of a factory floor (as opposed to proofs of concepts in controlled lab environments) then this is the place for you!

This is a unique opportunity to become part of a foundational XR product team that is in the process of scaling up solutions (for both the Google Glass and Hololens) developed at Boeing and externally over the last few years. The scope is Boeing wide and we are looking for an enthusiastic team member who is willing to roll up their sleeves and tackle a variety of real world challenges as we look to expand this capability to multiple programs across our business units in 2022. We build the capabilities that enable xR technology to be useable, safe, secure and scalable for both commercial airplanes and defense programs. We do this in by working alongside our partners BR&T (Boeing Research & Technology) and commercial vendor Teamviewer/Upskill to bring their solutions into IT&DA standard architecture and support models. While the initial statement of work will consist of platform level implementation, configuration, setup, compliance and support of delivered products we anticipate that the Factory XR team will take on additional responsibility for software development and maintenance as we make more progress.

You will get hands-on experience with XR devices in production environments especially on the factory floor. Occasional travel to other Boeing sites across the enterprise may be required. The candidate may need to operate in a manufacturing environment, lift small loads (<30lbs), and wear/operate a head mounted display with voice or hand gestures.
