We're looking for an experienced Developer Relations Engineer to grow and support a robust global community of creative technologists, designers and developers who use our AR creation tools to create user-generated features and experiences for TikTok video creators.

As a Developer Relations Engineer, you'll take on a unique, hybrid role that combines interactive engineering (e.g., prototyping, creating sample code) with community support (creating technical content such as videos, blogs and developer documentation). You'll partner closely with the Interactive Engineering team to learn and prototype with new software and features, then leverage that knowledge to work with the Community Management team to educate and grow our global AR designer and developer ecosystem.

On the inbound side, you'll work with our Product Management, Tools and Interactive Engineering teams to ensure our AR creation tools and resources meet the needs of TikTok's designer and developer community. On the outbound side, you'll collaborate with our Content Programming and Marketing teams to incubate and scale a community of creative technologists who are developing innovative AR features and experiences for TikTok.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical and creative support to a global ecosystem of designers and developers to build innovative AR features and experiences for TikTok

• Develop strategies and programs to grow and scale the community and drive adoption and retention of TikTok's AR platform, including high-impact virtual and in-person events (e.g., workshops, livestreams, tutorials, hackathons)

• Educate and upskill the community of TikTok AR designers and developers, including assisting with the production of learning resources, technical content and best practices

• Gather feedback and insights from the designer and developer community to feed into the TikTok AR platform roadmap

• Evangelize TikTok's AR platform within the creative community to drive awareness

• Serve as a voice for the designer and developer community within TikTok

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience with developer relations or building and managing creator/developer communities

• BS/BA in a relevant field, or equivalent experience

• Self-starter who can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and deliver results with limited supervision

• Passionate about TikTok and the latest AR technologies

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with designing, programming, and prototyping using real-time 3D engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal, OpenFrameworks, Processing, Cinder, Three.js, WebGL/OpenGL) and/or 3D modeling and animation software (e.g., Maya, Blender)

• Familiarity with and ability to quickly learn new asset creation tools (e.g., Z-brush, Houdini, Substance Designer, Marvelous Designer)

• Knowledge of computer graphics, GLSL and scripting languages (e.g., Lua, JavaScript, Python)

• Experience working on a global product with international partners in different time zones
