General Summary
Within QCT Multimedia Research and Development group in San Diego you will be responsible for building and optimizing eXtended Reality (XR) and Machine Learning technologies on Snapdragon SoCs. You will be using engineering techniques/tools to perform system architecture analysis and enhancement of various connected system components (CPU, Memory, System bus, dedicated hardware accelerators) that will push the limit of performance of the next generation AR/VR and Machine Learning technologies. You will be required to master the functional composition of AR/VR and Machine Learning algorithms to identify function level compute and performance requirements (power, memory bandwidth, latency, timing analysis) in an embedded environment. Use of high caliber hardware and software tools in prototype as well as a finished product level environment will be needed. You will also be performing competitive analysis of internal technologies with cutting edge commercial technologies by executing application-level use cases and measuring performance KPIs (compute and memory utilization, latencies, power consumption, error rate).
You will be applying a combination of data analysis, post processing, automation and software engineering skills and working with multi-disciplinary teams developing multimedia technologies on embedded SoCs.
Physical Requirements
- Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.
- Continuous communication (e.g., on conference calls) which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.
- Works in the lab, can use hazardous chemicals (e.g., glue, machinery).
