Software Engineer
San Mateo, CA
Sony PlayStation’s R&D team provides many of the technologies that provide new ways for gamers to experience extraordinary interactive content. This team provides cutting-edge technology contributions found in XR (eXtended Reality) to platform level products like PlayStationVR.
We seek an experienced Software Engineer to contribute our team in discovering and developing concepts, to prototypes and technology product production. Your efforts will provide new ways of user interaction for the high-volume production of state-of-the-art peripherals sold globally. If this is you, please apply!
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and development of face and body simulator for HW design and ML algorithm development
- Conduct camera and image sensor simulation for CV/ML
- Adapt to 3D animation tool and middleware game engines like Maya, Blender, Unreal Engine, Unity, etc.
- Working actively with other groups like ME/EE hardware for common goal
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar field
- 3D graphics development experience with 3D Modeling tool (Maya, Blender, etc) and/or Game engine middleware (Unity, Unreal Engine, etc.)
- Professional level understanding of 3D math
- Experience with Graphics processes and development (Writing Shaders, etc)
- Knowledge of simulation driven training for ML.
- Knowledge of image sensor and camera characteristics for CV.
- Experience programming with C++ and scripting languages such as C#, Python, LUA, etc.
- Min. of 2 years professional experience developing 3D graphics and/or ML projects
- Self-motivated with an ability to take initiative
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- A passion for games and game technologies
- Ability to work well within a team environment for integration and final delivery
Nice to Have:
- Experience of shipping a game on any platform
- Some game console programming experience
- Familiarity with ME CAD software.
- Good understanding of Augmented and Virtual Reality products, technologies, and concepts
- Differentiable rendering for ML
- 3D Mesh based DNN
