Canon U.S.A., Inc. in Melville, NY has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Virtual Reality Marketing Specialist (Sr Specialist, Prod Marketing). We are seeking a marketing professional with an entrepreneurial mindset to build branding, messaging, marketing and develop a roll-out plan and product launch for Canon Virtual Reality (VR) software solution.

This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday and Wednesday and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in office attendance on other days). Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Develops specific marketing plans and activities for specific product(s) or product line(s) to establish, enhance or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena
  • Develops business plans and product positioning in the marketplace
  • Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity and identifies customer needs
  • May establish pricing strategies
  • Works to develop new products or enhance existing product(s) or product line(s)
  • Applies consumer insight and market research to determine new marketing and product opportunities
  • Evaluates market potential of new products. Coordinates the efforts of marketing, design, and production to test and develop new products
  • Designs and executes brand strategies for the company and identifies new opportunities for assigned products, product lines, lines of business, or on a company-wide campaign basis
  • Manages marketing materials to establish product branding and messaging
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required, plus 5 years of related experience. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Marketing
  • Additional training in the technologies associated with the product lines for which he/she is responsible is beneficial
  • Passion and interest in Virtual Reality technology/contents
  • Ability to build from zero to one (Pioneer spirit)
  • Incumbent should possess leadership capabilities, good written and verbal communication skills, and excellent platform technique for the effective presentation of technical information
  • Familiarity with personal computers and multiple software packages is a must
