Who we are:
Archer is an aerospace company based in Palo Alto, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers for 60 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph while producing minimal noise.

What you’ll do:
- Assist the development of Archer’s high fidelity aircraft simulators supporting validation and verification activities, handling quality evaluations, human factor evaluations and test pilot training.
- Lead the development of Archer’s Out-the-Window visualization platform for use in piloted simulator platforms.
- Work with internal customers to prototype avionics displays in a COTS Out-the-Window simulation environment.
- Work with aircraft designers to convert and update existing aircraft digital assets for use in the simulation environment.
- Assist in the simulation and evaluation of environmental conditions such as weather and lighting.
- Build GUIs for end-users to interface with the real-time simulation environment.
- Assist in the execution of internal customer test plans.
What you need:
- 4+ years of experience in a related field.
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Industrial Design, Computer Visualization or related field.
- Experience developing user interfaces in real-time simulation environments (Unreal Engine, Unity, X-Plane, MSFS, P3D).
- Experience prototyping Graphical User Interfaces for 2D and 3D environments.
- Familiarity with modeling and animation pipelines.
- Experience with Python/C# scripting or C/C++ programming.
- Familiarity with standard software development tools:
- Continuous integration - TeamCity / Jenkins / Artifactory
- Version control - SVN / Git / Bitbucket / Perforce
- Issue tracking - Jira / Zendesk / MantisBT
- Willingness to learn and understand concepts outside your domain in order to bring a large, complex system to life.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Bonus qualifications
- Experience with Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) or multi-projector technologies.
- Experience generating custom simulation assets for ADS-33 testing.
- Fluency in Photoshop (or similar) to generate visual assets.
- Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodologies and tools.
- Experience developing for real-time aviation simulation platforms.
- Familiarity with or a passion for aviation.
