What will you be doing?

As 3D Generalist for the Mad Labs team, you will work on a wide variety of projects ranging from traditional animation, to product concepts and visualizations, to VR/AR and motion capture. You will be doing 3D modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, shading and rendering. You will work in collaboration with other 3D artists, designers, and engineers to help bring ideas to life. Every project is unique and offers the opportunity to experiment and grow as a 3D artist. We collaborate in a customer-driven environment where our decisions are grounded in responsible design, creating innovative experiences that make a better place for everyone of our users.


*This is an on-site position as it is dependent on the use of several hardware systems that cannot be used remotely.

Key Responsibilities


  • Create high quality 3D models consisting of products, architecture, characters, and props in accordance with the art direction, production deadlines and technical specifications.
  • Rig and animate characters, vehicles, and props.
  • Sculpting and texturing in a PBR workflow.
  • Set up models, shaders, and lighting for path traced rendering or real-time rendering using Unreal Engine.
  • Create playable VR/AR experiences.


Skills Needed


  • Proven experience working at a creative 3D studio or agency.
  • Strong portfolio showing 3D art skills that demonstrate a high level of artistic creativity.
  • Expert proficiency in standard 3D software such as Maya, V-Ray, Unreal Engine, Substance Painter, and the Adobe Suite.
  • Excellent knowledge of real-time rendering techniques.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, good communication, and able to take constructive criticism.
  • Experience in AR/VR/XR and or game design is a plus.
