Position: Concept Artist

Groove Jones is a creative technology company that produces next-generation experiences for world-class brands. We are best known for our award-winning work in AR (Augmented Reality), VR (Virtual Reality), ML (Machine Learning), and AI (Artificial Intelligence) Application development. We're currently accepting resumes and portfolios for a Concept Artist. The Concept Artist will provide the team with creative illustrations as well as production artwork, which include; storyboards, character designs, environment and object detail, and color and lighting compositions. This position will work alongside experienced art directors and designers, learn best practices, and help drive the creative vision for the project.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in the game industry or related roles 
• Strong foundation in art fundamentals of composition, design, light, form, scale, color, and materials.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent
• Ability to deliver high-quality artwork against tight deadlines.
• Passionate attitude that welcomes feedback and criticism, and enjoys working in a
• collaborative environment
• Willingness to learn new software programs and tools.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Design a wide range of original concepts and subject matter
• Be deeply familiar with the unique constraints of VR on object interactivity and account for these in all concepts
• Create concepts with the level of visual polish & details needed to communicate ideas to other teammates (3D, VFX, Design, which varies depending on project, tasks, and time
• Manage project timelines, own tasks, and effectively meet deadlines
• Keep up to date with the latest design trends and advancements in technology.
• Provide initial ideas rapidly with rough illustrations and thumbnails, quickly moving through the ideation process
