Are you looking to make an impact with a company that is working on innovative real-world XR business solutions? Altoura is looking for a designer that will produce mock-ups, prototypes and production art assets for its UI and supporting visual content. You will be tasked with presenting options and different approaches to push forward the visual language of Altoura that will used by our enterprise customers. You will work with developers, other designers and business stakeholders to drive the visual experience forward to make Altoura a clear and easy to use XR app. You will be challenged to create and maintain a consistent grammar across our entire device spectrum that spans from Windows to OSX, iOS, Android, Meta Quest and HoloLens.


Responsibilities:

  • Design layouts for interfaces and menus for a wide array of use cases and types of hardware. This will involve design in terms of screen-space and world-space UI elements.
  • Presenting thoughtful mock-ups and prototypes with an emphasis on quick iteration based on feedback.
  • Maintaining and developing icons and graphics standards for platform-wide consistency.
  • Supporting and assisting developers by providing production ready content.
  • Performing quality checks on implementation.


Essential Skills:

  • At least 2 years in designing user interfaces.
  • The ability to produce polished graphic designs.
  • Expert skills in Adobe Illustrator, XD and any 3D, 2D or animation software you need to convey your ideas and create production assets.
  • Experience with creating content for game engines (Unity preferred) and websites.
  • Effective communication skills. The ability to document proposals and solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills. You will need to herd cats, not be devoured by them.
  • The ability to process feedback and quickly pivot design direction as needed.


Bonus Experience:

  • Experience with Accessibility Guidelines.
  • Previous AR/VR work experience.


Requirements:

  • A select set of interface and motion-design examples, iconography and/or layouts that you have executed professionally and an explanation of your part in the process.
