The sensor team at Facebook Reality Labs explores and designs novel sensing technologies for the future of augmented and virtual reality products. We are seeking candidates with biosensor experience to contribute to our biometrics research. This person will help develop novel sensing systems capable of robustly measuring physiologically relevant signals, in collaboration with a team of multidisciplinary experts. The candidate should have a strong background in analog and digital signal processing methods.

  • Collaborate with researchers and engineers to develop hardware and software solutions for measuring pertinent physiological signals.
  • Develop algorithms to extract accurate signals that are robust to noise artifacts.
  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience with physical biosensors based on sensing principles such as optical, biopotential, thermal, and acoustic.
  • Experience with data acquisition hardware and signal processing chains and sensor signal conditioning.
  • Experience coding in C++, Matlab, or Python.
  • Familiarity with algorithms for extraction of vital signs such as HR, RR, etc.
  • Familiarity with biostatistics for qualification of sensor data.
  • Experience in medical device technologies or related field.
  • Experience in clinical settings.
